Job Description

The Public Health Nurse reports to the Director of Population Health. As an integral member of the Population Health Services team, provides Public Health Nursing services within the framework of the Population Health Promotion Model. This employee works relatively independently and is expected to make primary decisions based on sound assessments in accordance with the Public Health Act, the policies of the Public Health Nursing program, the SRNA Standards of Practice, the Canadian Community Health Nursing Standards of Practice, the Public Health Nursing Discipline Specific Competencies and other relevant legislation. Inherent in this role are the knowledge, skills, and abilities specific to health promotion, primary and secondary prevention strategies and protection.
