Job summary

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHCT) is seeking to appoint a Cardiologist with subspecialty interest in advanced cardiac imaging. NHCT provides cardiology services for a population of 500,000. Our emphasis is on delivering a Trust wide approach with equal access to high quality services for both the inner city and rural populations.

NHCT is regionally in the forefront for cardiac imaging: We developed the first regional DGH cardiac MRI service in 2003, which is fully commissioned via national specialist commissioning. The service completed 1495 scans in 2021. We image on a 2016 Siemens Avanto at Wansbeck General Hospital (WGH), a 2013 GE Optima 360w at North Tyneside General Hospital (NTGH), a GE 1.5T Signa Voyager at Hexham General Hospital (HGH) and a 2015 Siemens Avanto used for in-patient scanning at the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital (NSECH).
