We as department Functional Design own dedicated features and work closely with internal stakeholders like Product Owners, Component Owners, UX/UI and Test Designers to ensure that the features are described and implemented according to the needs of our customers and other stakeholders. We elicit the requirements for a feature from the product lines considering future usage options and cross-product interdependencies and create a technical concept with the affected development teams. We are the go to persons in case of open questions, defects to be assessed in their severity (regarding customer impact), and decisions regarding re-using or changing the feature. The concept creation will be continuously synchronized with the Solution Engineering Project Lead to plan the development and integration of the feature in a defined project release. We support the test engineer in creating test cases and test concepts and ensure the acceptance from a customer point of view.
