The Opportunity:

The Municipal Legal Counsel position is responsible to act as the central point of contact for providing general legal support to all parts of the City of Airdrie’s organization. Responsibilities include analyzing complex legal issues, weighing competing considerations and making decisions and recommendations that are tailored to the City of Airdrie.

Municipal Legal Counsel is responsible for research and drafting as required, but not limited to reviewing and advising on municipal and administrative law, legislative changes affecting municipal operations in the areas of planning and development, municipal governance, corporate law, and contracts.

The Municipal Legal Counsel reports directly to the City Clerk and will be required to regularly communicate with the City Clerk, other external legal counsel, and staff in other departments.
