Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs for maritime operations in compliance with international maritime regulations, including SOLAS, ISM Code, and ISPS Code.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of vessels, terminals, and shore facilities to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Perform risk assessments of onboard activities, cargo handling, and emergency response procedures to mitigate risks and enhance safety.
• Provide safety training to crew members on topics such as personal safety, emergency procedures, firefighting, and use of safety equipment.
• Conduct safety drills and exercises to ensure crew members are prepared to respond to emergencies effectively.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
