DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Under the guidance and supervision of the Coordinator, Health Policy and Service Design, with the general guidance of the Director, Health Systems and Services, and in close consultation with the Regional Office for the Western Pacific technical divisions, the incumbent will have the following responsibilities : 1.

Provide technical advice and support to Member States, as and when appropriate, in the development of evidence-informed nursing and midwifery policies, strategies and plans in support of UHC and the thematic priorities of the Western Pacific Region vision paper.

2. Assist Member States to strengthen the availability and use of nursing and midwifery workforce data to quantitatively and qualitatively analyse the situation and generate evidence for policydecisions, including the dissemination of WHO's tools and guidelines for theuse of Member States and stakeholders.
