Basic Function

Under the direction of an assigned administrator, perform responsible administrative and clerical functions in support of a major single functional activity within the District.

Distinguishing Characteristics

Incumbents in this class work with considerable freedom to act on a major single functional activity. Incumbents accept responsibility for an administrative and clerical part of a program and may direct an activity at a site separated from the assigned superior. The class does not include secretarial positions in that incumbents do not perform normal secretarial and clerical functions in support of an administrator; rather, incumbents direct an important administrative part of a program with little direction and may supervise or provide work direction and guidance to other clerical personnel.
