Basic Function

Senior Pharmacist functions and responsibilities include the following:
• Medication therapy assessment for dosing, allergies, drug-drug interactions, and drug-food interactions.
• Processing, entering and verification of medication orders at specialized units.
• Medication dispensing; ensuring right patient, right drug, right time and right dose and route.
• Conducts day-to-day operations and coordinates on-going work activities.
• Supervises and maintains the activities of one of the Groups/Segments as assigned.
• Serves as a resource person for the assigned specialized area/unit.
• May serve as the primary representative for Pharmacy Services in activities such as committees, taskforces etc.
