A PhD position funded by the Universitat de Girona is open in the group of Dr. Marc Garcia-Borràs and Dr. Ferran Feixas at the Institute of Computational Chemistry and Catalysis (http://iqcc.udg.edu) at the University of Girona (Spain). The research project associated with this position is at the interface of computational (bio)chemistry and (bio)catalysis. The goal of the research group is to develop and apply multi-scale molecular modeling protocols to gain insight into the detailed molecular mechanisms of relevant biochemical processes and, then, harness this information for the rational design of biocatalysts. The group has strong expertise on quantum mechanical calculations, molecular dynamics simulations, enhanced sampling techniques, and advanced analysis tools.
